A Lesson In Frame Control: Robert Downey Jr

Robert Downey Jr recently walked out of an interview after the idiot reporter started to pry into his past.

Note how RDJ keeps frame within the clip and then walks out.

No different than dealing with a girl on a date. If she won’t conform to your frame, get up and walk away. You don’t owe her an explanation and you don’t need to sit and be grilled like it’s a Gauntanamo interrogation.

As girls increasingly shit test and think it’s cute to be confrontational, this is a good lesson to learn because you will need it one day, if you haven’t already used it.

You are a High Value Male. Just as RDJ knows HE’S the prize (the celebrity being interviewed), he knows his time is valuable and he will move the fuck on if he so desires. When you adopt this attitude girls will be less eager to ‘ball-bust’ you, because they know you simply won’t tolerate it.

Also, note when he calls the reporter out for being nervous (he mentions his foot moving). This is a classic offensive social technique to divert the attention to the ‘accuser’ and cause them to get flustered.

He stays composed, but it’s all in the eyes.

Here’s the video of what happened (note it starts a few minutes in to get to the point).

  1. Great article. Definitely sharing this with my friends.
As Tom Leykis says, “women are like buses, there’s another one coming around the corner in fifteen minutes”. As soon as men take control and don’t tolerate their shit tests, it’s easier to get to that point where you don’t mind just walking out on a date.

  2. Awesome example. Thanks for sharing. I recently walked out on a first date with a hot girl. My physical attraction to her was off the charts, but it became obvious the she was manipulative and a user. I picked up my keys and walked out the door without a word.

  3. He remained charming to the end, but it’s clear that he did not wish to talk to an asshole about his personal trials and tribulations. It was clear that bloke was not going to talk about the movie, so it was rehashing the past. Why should a man want and need to talk about it with him there?

There are plenty of subjects if some stranger breached them to me, then I would not give them any answer – I might talk about those things rarely with a very good friend if at all.

Walking out gracefully is always an option. Such an asshole really – after years of having done major blockbusters and being more or less clean they still ask him that crap. If he falls off the wagon, then he does so and if not then he will continue doing great movies.

Personally I have had situations where I remained silent as someone asked me a question or I simply left silently. I don’t owe everyone an answer to all questions and I don’t need to sit through everything like an idiot.

  4. Loved this one McQueen. The mainstream press is such negative brainwashing that reinforces beta tendencies and limitations and I pretty much hate them.

    Question-

Are you going to do an Alpha Playboy book on stacking paper?

A cool book Im Reading now is “The 12 Month Millionaire” by Vincent James (NJ Italian HS dropout who had a 50 million/yr grossing biz by his late 20s and endorsed by marketing guru Gary Halbert).
